EUROPEAN YOUTH CUP

A  unique  European experience  of  growth, exchange  and  comparison for  Under 14  youth  football

The European Youth Cup is a youth-oriented, educational and non-profit project promoted by ASD Savio, designed to offer Under 14 young players from different European countries an authentic international experience, built around sport as a tool for human, cultural and relational growth.

It is not simply a sporting event.
It is a concrete opportunity to experience Europe, to travel, to meet peers from different cultural backgrounds and to grow through dialogue, encounter and shared experiences.

An experience designed to leave a lasting mark, on and off the pitch.

This is not a tournament to apply for.
It is an experience to be selected for.

The European Youth Cup is designed for clubs that believe football, at this age, should educate before it performs and build relationships before chasing results.

For invited teams, participation represents a rare opportunity: to offer their young players a genuine European experience, difficult to replicate within domestic competitions.

Why the European Youth Cup was created

Within the European youth football landscape, many competitions exist, but only a few offer international educational experiences that are truly accessible, non-commercial and genuinely focused on young people.

The European Youth Cup was created to address this gap.

The project aims to offer
Under 14 young players:

A healthy and responsible sporting competition

A structured and safeguarded travel experience

A real European context of cultural exchange

A pathway that places the individual at the centre,
not only the sporting result

Football is the common language.
Growth is the objective.

While the project has a strong educational nature, it also maintains a serious, structured and meaningful sporting dimension.

Sporting activities are designed to ensure real comparison between teams coming from different football cultures, offering young players a stimulating and formative competitive environment.

Competition is an integral part of the project, understood as healthy sporting confrontation, capable of educating, teaching and fostering both individual and collective growth.
A competitive experience that values respect, sharing and learning, on and off the pitch.

A non-profit, free and truly accessible project

The European Youth Cup is developed within a non-profit, youth-oriented and educational framework, fully aligned with the principles of European programmes dedicated to youth sport and cultural exchange.

Participation in the project is entirely free of charge for invited clubs.

ASD Savio, as the host organisation, covers all hosting and organisational costs, ensuring equal access opportunities for all participating teams.

Free participation is not a logistical detail.

It is a value-based choice that makes this experience:

Genuinely inclusive

independent from commercial logic

accessible to different educational and sporting realities

Who the project is for

The European Youth Cup is addressed to:

Under 14
youth players

clubs that believe in sport as an educational and formative tool

technical and educational staff involved in the sporting and human development of young players

The project involves teams from approximately ten European countries, carefully selected based on:

Alignment with the project’s values

Quality of the educational pathway developed within the club

Attention to the human growth of young players

This is not an open event.
It is a limited-participation experience, based on invitation only.

The project is promoted and hosted by ASD Savio, a historic youth football organisation based in Rome, long committed to a solid and recognised educational approach.

ASD Savio acts as coordinating and hosting organisation, ensuring a safe, structured and professionally managed environment throughout the entire duration of the project.

A European experience beyond the pitch

Taking part in the European Youth Cup means living a complete experience that brings together:

SPORT

TRAVEL

CULTURAL EXCHANGE

PERSONAL GROWTH

During the six days of the project, young participants:

Live and move within an international environment

Encounter different educational and sporting approaches

Develop autonomy, responsibility and open-mindedness

Build relationships that go beyond the football pitch

Sporting results matter.
But they are not what remains.

The European dimension at the core

The European Youth Cup is a deeply European project.
The presence of teams from different countries allows participants to:

engage with diverse cultural backgrounds

develop an international mindset

strengthen their sense of belonging to a shared European community

Europe is not a backdrop.
It is the heart of the experience.

Rome as an educational context

The project takes place in Rome, chosen not only as a logistical venue, but as a true cultural and social context.

Rome becomes an integral part of the participants’ educational pathway:
a city that stimulates curiosity, awareness and openness, offering an environment rich in history, identity and dialogue.

An authentic cultural context that enriches and completes the educational and human experience of the young people involved.

Project period and duration

22>29
JUNE 2027
ROME

The European Youth Cup will take place in Rome within the period from 22 to 29 June 2027.

Within this time frame, the project will have a total duration of 6 days, dedicated to sporting, educational and cultural exchange activities.

The final dates of the activities are currently being defined and will be shared with the selected clubs during the operational development of the project.

The selected period is designed to:

  • facilitate participation by European clubs
  • ensure a balanced placement within the youth football calendar
  • offer an intense yet sustainable experience for young players

A unique opportunity not to be missed

Is free
of charge

is
non-profit

involves limited participation

is invitation-based

For an Under 14 player, it represents:

  • a genuine European experience
  • an opportunity for international travel and comparison
  • an educational pathway that goes beyond football

For clubs, it is the opportunity to offer their young players something rare, formative and difficult to replicate.

    Project status

The project is currently in an advanced development phase.

    Ongoing activities include:

    • dialogue with invited European clubs
    • definition of sporting and educational activities
    • organisation of hosting and logistical arrangements

Many young players will experience their sporting journey mainly at a local or national level.

For this reason, offering an authentic, educational and structured European experience already at Under 14 level represents a rare value, capable of leaving a lasting mark beyond the football pitch.

This is what makes the European Youth Cup a truly unique experience.
